Abram Church of England School, Wigan

This School has recently had problems with vandals causing thousands of pounds worth of damage and the Headteacher Mr Peter Freeman was looking for solutions to this problem. Because of the layout of the School and as it is fenced on the perimeter of the grounds, our suggestion was to install a first-class CCTV System with Audio and Infra-Red lighting with Farsight Remote Monitoring. This system transmits via the internet live to a manned monitoring centre who can call the Police and communicate with any intruders by loud speaker, which nine times out of ten is enough to drive the intruders away. This type of monitoring is highly efficient and cost-effective and is suitable for School premises and Commercial companies.

Wingates Residential Home

The Nurse Call system at the Wingates Residential Home was starting to break down and to add to this the manufacturer had long since withdrawn its support of the existing product so we had to provide a solution for the owner so that residents and staff alike were not left vulnerable.
As time was of the essence we felt a radio nurse call system would be economical, could be installed quickly and be able to run alongside the old system. With this in mind we invited Courtney Thorne to carry out a demonstration of their newly launched updated radio system.
The demonstration proved a resounding success, as a feature of the system is the ‘touch screen’ main panel with its built in ‘information system’. The system offers owners of care/residential homes a range of selected details which are required by the Care Quality Commission in order to assess/grade homes according to their ability to meet care guidelines/regulations.
